Chase Can't Get Enough Bath Time

Every time Chase hears the water in the bathroom running he stops what he is doing and crawls in high gear to the bathroom. He's always hopeful that whoever is taking the bath or shower will strip him down so he can join in.

If we won't put him into the tub with us he wants to stand on the side holding the edge and play with toys in hopes that maybe he will get a few splashes.

Yesterday Chase had already had a bath and it was Daniel's turn. We weren't going to put him in again but he took it upon himself to get that second bath. He reached over and slipped right into the tub fully clothed.

The look on his face says it all - "Look what I can do! I'm such a big boy."

First Concert

Daniel had his first concert and it was all that we dreamed it would be. Note the little girl crying so hard her daddy pulls her off stage, followed by all the kids staring from stage. Daniel has been a singing fool this last week, but like many kids, got a hint of stage fright under the spot light.

Daniel was very proud of himself, as was I, when we left the school. And the best part? The entire show, songs and cookie reception afterwards, took a total of 30 minutes! Let the school and extracurricular commitments begin.

3rd Birthday in Photos

Tradition: Pizza and make-your-own Sundaes at the Garlic Knot with Nonna and Carl
 Pancake Cake. Theme: construction.
Outdoor pastel art with Daniel's new easel from Marmee, Gianna and Mike.
Our goose directs traffic to Daniel's birthday party in the backyard.
Daniel's new stomp rocket was a hit with his friends Eli, Kennedy, Dylan and Mason.
Ice cream sandwich cake. Super easy. Super Delicious!
The Pinata. (Daniel has no idea how to pronounce pinata.)
Despite their best efforts, the little guys couldn't bust open the donkey. Fortunately the Delgado boys were here to lend a forceful hand.
Chase' first Pinata. I'm told to hit him, but I really want to pet him.
Candy and stickers for all. Hooray!

Daniel is 3

Happy Birthday, Daniel!

Today is your third birthday, and after a weekend of family, friends, and more birthday partying than most boys your age probably do, you are taking today to enjoy some of the simple pleasures in life:

Riding your bike
Having a picnic
Nap time
Dinner and play in the park

We love you, Daniel. Happy Birthday, big boy.

Comic Relief

Chase,

You have a way of brightening the mood in a room, that's for sure. The other day I was in the car with you and your brother. Daniel wasn't exactly being easy-going, and I wasn't in a very positive frame of mind, when out of nowhere you responded to a loud comment from Daniel with a big, wet fart sound from your mouth. We all cracked up, and were a lot more joyful the rest of the ride home.

Thank you for being you!

Donnie

Tomorrow is Easter Sunday. Before we can move forward on this blog to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the Salvation we have been given, we need mention a woman who passed away last weekend that embodied the beauty, grace, generosity, and love that Christ himself possessed.

The life of Eleanor Howard (Donnie, to all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren) was celebrated this week with the electrifying colors of Hawaiian flowers, Broncos jerseys, barbeque and a bounce house, and five generations of family. An amazing woman she was. Daniel and Chase, we will help you remember her. We will all fondly remember her.

It just so happens that last weekend our family of four stayed up at Donnie's cottage in Bailey, CO. Below are some of the many new memories we made while at the Cottage at Meadow Lark, as Donnie looked on, and probably chuckled on several occasions.

We love you, Donnie.
